The Sabah Highlights & Sandakan Memorial voyage starts in Kota Kinabalu on 11th August and visits Pulau Mantanani, Sandakan, Kudat, Pulau Labuan, Klias Wetlands and Pulau Tiga before arriving back in Kota Kinabalu.
The expedition takes in some of the very remote islands of Malaysia. This is the heart of the Coral Triangle which boasts some of the best snorkelling in the world. The area is legendary for underwater coral forests and amazing marine diversity. As well as relaxing days of swimming and snorkelling, there will be plenty of other highlights including Sandakan and the Kinabatangan River. Described as Malaysia’s Gift to the Earth, the Kinabatangan is a wildlife mecca, and guests have the opportunity to journey deep within the rainforest to explore its beauty with an overnight stay in the comfortable Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge in Sukau. On the journey along the river there will be opportunities to see wild orangutans, proboscis monkeys, macaques, Bornean pygmy elephants and some of the world’s most spectacular bird species.
